Purcellville police report, Dec. 31, 2021
12/24/21 8:40 a.m. 4100 Block of E. Main Street Trespassing
The complaint reported that on December 23, 2021 at 3:18 p.m., he observed, via his ring doorbell, a subject on his porch, looking into a box on the front porch.
The investigating officer had an inkling as to who the subject may have been and showed him the video. The subject confirmed that he was the one on the video and at the request of the complainant, was served with trespassing papers.
12/24/21 7:07 p.m. 1000 Block of E. Main Street Information Only
The complainant was driving his van in the parking lot when an intoxicated subject staggered in front of his vehicle and gave him the middle finger salute.
The complaint exited his vehicle and he and the drunk exchanged words that would not be described as hale and hearty greetings amongst men. Fortunately, no physical contact took place and the subject was escorted to his residence by a staff member from Velocity Wings.
12/24/21 9:57 p.m. 200 Block of Cenning Terrace Petit Larceny
Upon opening a box from Target that had been in his garage for approximately two weeks, the complainant found not only his ordered item, but also a bag of cat food addressed to a resident of Alexandria Virginia and a can of topical spray anesthetic addressed to Frederick Memorial Hospital.
An examination of the box revealed that while the Target tape seal was intact, it appeared that the box had been cut and re-sealed along the side. The fire department responded as the box addressed to the hospital was labeled as flammable gas. Upon determining the content, they declined to take possession of it. The complaint was directed to contact the shipper and request that they reclaim the unwanted items.
12/27/21 12:41 p.m. 200 Block of West Main Street Assist Rescue
Officers responded to a residence where medics discovered an elderly woman was injured during a fall. Based on her condition and the conditions of her residence, Adult Protective Services was called to open a case.
12/28/21 2:47 a.m. 300 Block of S. 20th Street Larceny
A resident was out of town, but received notice that various carriers had left packages on her porch. Upon her return home, no packages were located. None of the nearby neighbors collected the packages for safekeeping.
12/28/21 11:26 p.m. 745 E. Main Street Brandishing a Firearm
The complainant and another subject had a brief verbal altercation in the parking lot. The suspect allegedly took an AK-47 style rifle from the trunk of his vehicle and pointed it at the complainant.
The suspect put the gun back in his vehicle and both men left. The suspect was identified and police obtained a warrant for Brandishing a Firearm.
At approximately 4:51 p.m., the suspect turned himself in and was processed at the Adult Detention Center. He was released on his promise to appear.
12/29/21 9:04 a.m. 100 Block of N. 16th Street Larceny- License Plate
The victim reported that sometime between 8 p.m. on 12/27/21 and 8 a.m. on 12/29/21, his rear license plate was removed from the rear of his vehicle.
12/29/21 3:18 p.m. 1000 Block of E. Main Street Larceny- License Plate
The victim reported that sometime between 8 a.m. on 12/26/21 and 8:00 a.m. on 12/28/21, her front license plate was removed from her vehicle.
12/29/21 11:54 p.m. 610 W. Main Street Trespassing
A male subject attempted to purchase alcohol and presented an ID which proved to be false. The clerk refused the sale, kept the ID and called the police. The suspect, an adult under the age of 21, was located and cited for possession of a fictitious license.
12/30/21 8:29 a.m. 100 Block of S. Maple Avenue Suspicious Incident
The complainant reported finding in her yard, a plastic bag containing a rock and a written message with language that cast aspersions upon the complainant’ political beliefs.
