Loudoun to Host Faith-Based Housing Summit May 6
Loudoun County will host a summit on May 6, 2026, aimed at helping faith-based and nonprofit organizations explore opportunities to build attainable housing on land owned by faith communities.
The “Faith-Based Attainable Housing Summit: Planting the SEEDs — Support, Educate, Engage and Develop” will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lodge at Hanson Park in Aldie. Light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
County officials define attainable housing as homes affordable to households earning between 0 and 100 percent of the area median income, which equates to up to $163,900 annually for a family of four.
The summit will offer faith organizations insight into how partnering with the county can expand their missions while addressing housing needs for local families and individuals. The event is organized by the Loudoun County Department of Housing and Community Development in partnership with Virginia Housing.
The program will feature three sessions:
- Faith-Based Development, From Roots to Buildings: Experts from Georgetown University, Enterprise Community Partners and Virginia Housing will discuss the process of developing housing on faith-owned land, from initial planning to construction.
- Partnership — Loudoun County Government Support: County representatives will outline financing options, rezoning procedures and programs available to support housing development efforts.
- Success Stories: Faith-based organizations and developers will share examples of completed projects and their community impact.
The event is free, but space is limited and registration is required at loudoun.gov/FaithBasedHousingSummit.
Individuals needing accommodations or language assistance may call 703-737-8323 or TTY-711 with at least three business days’ notice.
