Art is in season at Oatlands
Art in the Heart of Loudoun: the Loudoun Sketch Club’s annual member show, will be held Oct. 18 through Nov. 16, at Oatlands, a National Trust Historic Site. Joined by Oatlands’ artists, the collaborative art show and sale showcases works in a variety of styles and mediums by talented local and regional artists. A portion of the proceeds from all sales will be donated to support the historic preservation mission of Oatlands.
Founded in 1944, the Loudoun Sketch Club is the oldest organized group of adult artists in the region. Ranging from professionals to hobbyists and enthusiasts, members gather in spring and fall to create their art en plein air at a variety of outdoor locations in Northern Virginia. The club also supports artists through social gatherings and winter workshops. The collective is known for its inclusive nature, welcoming artists at all levels of their artistic journey.
Oatlands patrons are invited to an intimate sneak-preview reception on Friday, Oct. 17, from 5–7 p.m. Meet the artists on Saturday, Oct. 18 from, 1-3 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public.
Oatlands, a site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, encompasses 400 acres of farmland, gardens, and historic structures in Loudoun County, Virginia.
