Art in the Burg: Celebrate the Arts on May 9

Sponsored by the Middleburg Arts Council and the Town of Middleburg

On Saturday, May 9, the Middleburg Arts Council and the Town of Middleburg will host its annual arts celebration, Art in the Burg. The event will feature artwork from local and regional artists, plein air painting, strolling musicians, and live music, on South Madison Street, Federal Street, and other locations around town from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Visitors will have the opportunity to connect with more than 40 artists and discuss their creative processes in the beautiful historic setting of downtown Middleburg, which offers a wonderful variety of shopping and dining options as well.

During this celebration of the arts, Thapasya Bharatanatyam Dance, Jubilee Performing Arts, and Loudoun Jazz Society will perform on the main stage. One juried artist will also be awarded the People’s Choice Award. 

VMFA on the Road, the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts’ Artmobile, will be parked at the Middleburg Community Charter School (101 N Madison St.) during the event. VMFA on the Road’s traveling exhibition features 14 works of art from the VMFA collection.
