Loudoun Opens New Arts and Culture Grant Program

The Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services has opened a new grant program offering up to $15,000 to organizations working to expand arts and cultural opportunities throughout the county.

Applications for the new Arts and Culture Grant Program are being accepted through noon on Tuesday, Sept. 22. Grants will range from $5,000 to $15,000, with no matching funds required.

The program is intended to support both operational and project-based proposals that provide arts and cultural experiences for Loudoun residents and visitors. Funding may support a range of artistic disciplines, including performing, visual and literary arts.

The program is part of an effort to strengthen Loudoun’s arts community while recognizing the role arts and culture can play in economic development, community health and overall well-being.

Funding decisions will take into consideration the scope, impact and feasibility of each proposal. The grant period will run from Jan. 1 through June 30, 2027.

The program is open to organizations rather than individual artists. Eligible applicants include nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations, units of local government, federally recognized tribes or tribal communities, and organizations applying through a qualified fiscal sponsor or fiscal agent.

Each organization may submit one application for the grant period.

PRCS held a virtual Arts and Culture Grant Workshop Aug. 12 to provide information about the new program. The county said the session would be recorded and made available afterward.

Applications, program guidelines and additional information about the Arts and Culture Grant Program are available at loudoun.gov/ArtsAndCultureGrants.

The application deadline is noon Tuesday, Sept. 22.
