Ana Quijano officially files for Republican nomination for Ashburn Supervisor
Ana Quijano formally filed papers to be the Republican nominee for the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors Ashburn District.

Quijano, adopted from Colombia as a baby and raised in Leesburg, will be filing delegates to vote at the Loudoun Republican Convention at Broad Run High School, Ashburn on May 13.
If nominated, she will face incumbent Democrat Mike Turner in the Nov. 8 election.
If elected, Quijano would be the first Hispanic to serve on the Loudoun Board. “It is time a Hispanic stepped up to represent one of the largest ethnic groups in Loudoun. “Estoy con ustedes, Lucharé por ustedes, y ganaré por ustedes”
Quijano has pledged to focus on the bread-and-butter issues. “Current Board of Supervisor members want to turn Ashburn into the new Tysons Corner with density packing and high-rise complexes.
“This will bring in more traffic and higher taxes down the road to pay for county resources like schools, and Fire and Rescue services. We need a healthy balance of residential and commercial that won’t overwhelm our county. People come to Loudoun for the safe family friendly suburbs. We need to keep it that way and that means working with both developers and residents to find common ground. We need smart balanced growth.”
Quijano is a single mom, and started her own small business working as a private lesson music teacher teaching violin, viola, and cello. “Rising cost in living and taxes is not good for any business owner in Loudoun whether it’s a small or large business. The tax rates are not being reduced enough and the assessments for property keep going up, not giving relief to anyone. We want to keep Loudoun business friendly and that starts with new leadership,” said Quijano.
“I moved from a condo to a basement apartment due to the increased cost of living in Loudoun.” said Quijano. “I experience each day what other families are dealing with, such as inflation, taxes, and the high cost of living.”
“We need to bring sanity back to our public schools, and hold the School Board accountable for programs such as Critical Race Theory, sexualization of our children and other woke programs. It starts with electing conservative Board members,” said Quijano when talking about the School Board.
Quijano is endorsed by former Loudoun Supervisor Mick Staton, who served from 2004-2008 and was the first Chairman of the Transportation and Land Use Committee. “I am proud to support Ana to represent Ashburn on the Board,” Staton said. “As a working mom, Ana knows how important it is to keep Loudoun on a tight spending leash. She will be a strong advocate for parents and will fight to maintain the family-friendly communities we know and love here in Ashburn.”
Quijano also is endorsed by former Ashburn District Supervisor Ralph Buona (2012-2019), who served as Vice-Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Finance and Government Services Committee “I am pleased to endorse Ana for Supervisor,” Buona said. “She will hold the line on development and taxes. She is committed to strengthening our schools and vocal in her support for public safety. She is committed to Loudoun County’s Law Enforcement and the Combined Fire-Rescue System.”
Quijano attended George Mason University and is completing her master’s in Secondary Education.
