According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, local conditions have deteriorated from Moderate Drought to Severe Drought, necessitating mandatory conservation measures for all residents and businesses.

Residents and businesses are required to conserve water. Failure to comply may result in penalties as authorized under Town Code Article IV.-Drought Response and Contingency Ordinance.

Mandatory restrictions include, but are not limited to:

  • Restaurants, cafeterias, and other food establishments shall provide water only upon a patron’s request
  • Use of outside fountains or decorative water structures is prohibited
  • Watering lawns, washing vehicles, or cleaning other outdoor surfaces is prohibited
  • No use of fire hydrants except for health and public safety use

The fine for violation of this Article shall be no less than $100 for the first offense, $200 for the second offense, and $300 for the third offense.

Community cooperation is essential to ensuring responsible water use during this period. The Town thanks residents and businesses for their cooperation.
