Free Summer Meals Available for Loudoun Children Through July 31
Loudoun County Public Schools is once again providing free meals to children throughout the summer through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food Service Program.
The program offers free breakfasts and lunches to all children ages 18 and younger at designated locations across Loudoun County while school is out of session. The initiative is designed to help ensure that children continue to have access to nutritious meals during the summer months.
According to LCPS, meals are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are funded through the USDA Summer Food Service Program.
Federal regulations require that all meals be consumed at the designated site. Food may not be taken off-site, and parents or guardians may not pick up meals to bring home.
Summer meal locations will operate Monday through Friday through July 31. Most sites will be closed on July 3 in observance of Independence Day, with the exception of Sterling Library, which will remain open.

Families seeking additional food assistance during the summer can visit Loudoun Feeds, which maintains an online calendar of local food pantries and food distribution events throughout the county. The resource includes dates, times, locations and eligibility requirements for participating organizations.
LCPS officials noted that the Summer Meals Program is separate from the division’s summer school meal service. While summer school meals are available only to students enrolled in LCPS summer school programs and require payment, the Summer Meals Program is free and available to any child age 18 or younger at approved sites.
