Belfort furniture expands to Berryville Distribution Center
Belfort Furniture has purchased a 260,000-square-foot distribution center in Berryville, Virginia, expanding its logistics operations while keeping its corporate offices and flagship showroom in Loudoun County.
The family-owned furniture retailer will begin transitioning operations in the coming months from its current 83,000-square-foot distribution center on Ocean Court in Sterling to the substantially larger Berryville facility, located at 351 Station Road. The Sterling property has been sold.
Belfort will continue to maintain its corporate offices and 150,000 square feet of retail showroom space in Dulles, preserving a major presence in Loudoun County while shifting warehouse operations west. The company delivers to more than 30,000 households annually throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan region.
“This expansion allows us to better serve our customers while planning for long-term growth,” said Mike Huber, Founder and CEO of Belfort Furniture. “Berryville gives us the space, flexibility, and strategic access we need to continue delivering exceptional service across the region.”
Berryville’s location along Rt. 7, near Interstate 81, places the distribution center within reach of growing markets such as Winchester, Virginia, and Jefferson County, West Virginia. The site is also located within 500 miles of many of the furniture manufacturers Belfort works with, including Rowe Furniture, Vaughan-Bassett, England, Huntington House, Stickley Furniture, and Bernhardt.
The new distribution center spans 260,000 square feet on 22 acres, making it more than three times the size of Belfort’s current warehouse. In addition to serving as a central distribution hub, the company plans to include an on-site furniture outlet. Renovations are currently underway to update the facility, with a multi-million-dollar project focused on warehouse efficiency, safety, and long-term capacity.
The expanded space is expected to allow Belfort to carry a larger in-stock inventory across a range of price points while continuing to offer customized furniture options.
“Berryville represents more than just additional space—it’s an investment in our future,” said Matt Huber, President of Belfort Furniture. “This expansion allows us to grow our in-stock selection, improve delivery times, and continue delivering the flexibility and choice our customers expect.”
As Belfort prepares to vacate its Sterling warehouse, the company plans to host on-site warehouse sales this spring during the transition period.
The Berryville facility has a long industrial history. Built in the 1940s, it once operated as the largest apple distribution plant east of the Mississippi River before later serving as a cabinet manufacturing plant.
Founded in Virginia, Belfort Furniture remains family owned and operates one of the largest furniture stores in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The company employs more than 125 people across its retail, corporate, and warehouse operations.
