Keep Loudoun Beautiful Potomac River canoe cleanup
Keep Loudoun Beautiful is gearing up for their annual canoe cleanup event. Join them as they paddle down the Potomac River collecting tires and litter found along and in the water. The event will take place Sunday, Sept. 11 from 8:45 a.m. to 2 p.m.
They will meet at Riverside on the Potomac, located at 44337 Spinks Ferry Road, Leesburg 20176. From there, the canoe outfitter will bring volunteers and the canoes by bus to the put-in point. From the put-in point, they will paddle down the Potomac River picking up litter and tires.
The trip will end back at Riverside on the Potomac where all will enjoy a pizza lunch. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to participate. For more information and to register, visit www.KeepLoudounBeautiful.org.
The event fee is $30 per person. The fee includes the canoe, paddle, and safety vest, river guide, cleanup supplies, and a pizza lunch.
