Loudoun Offers Free Behavioral Health Training Sessions
Loudoun County is offering a series of free behavioral health training sessions for residents. Seating is limited and advance registration is required for most classes.
The county’s upcoming schedule includes both in-person and virtual training opportunities focused on mental health awareness, opioid overdose response, and suicide prevention.
Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid training teaches participants how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. The program also provides skills to offer initial support to individuals who may be developing a condition or experiencing a crisis.
Two versions of the program will be offered in May: a general adult course and a course for adults who work with youth.
In-person sessions will be held at the Loudoun County Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services, 21641 Ridgetop Circle, Suite 210, Sterling.
- Adult Mental Health First Aid (two-day session; attendance required both days)
Tuesday, May 12, and Wednesday, May 13, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Registration deadline: May 11 - Youth Mental Health First Aid
Wednesday, May 20, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Opioid Overdose Reversal Training
REVIVE! is Virginia’s opioid overdose education and naloxone training program. Loudoun
County offers two formats:
- Rapid REVIVE! — A six-minute, self-paced online training available at any time.
Participants who complete the training and submit contact information can receive free naloxone nasal spray by mail or pickup. No registration is required.
English: loudoun.gov/RapidRevive
Spanish: loudoun.gov/ReviveEspanol - Virtual REVIVE! — A one-hour instructor-led session requiring registration.
Participants are also eligible to receive free naloxone.
Next session: Monday, May 4, 3 to 4 p.m.
Same-day registration is available.

Suicide Prevention Training
Question, Persuade, Refer training teaches three steps that anyone can use to help prevent suicide. Participants learn to recognize warning signs and refer individuals to professional help. Each virtual session includes instruction, discussion, and practice opportunities.

- Monday, June 1, noon to 1:30 p.m.
