Rotary Club of Purcellville donates $6K to Legacy Farms

The Rotary Club of Purcellville has awarded a $6,000 donation to Legacy Farms, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to providing apprenticeship-style learning and job opportunities in a neurodiverse community. The donation will support Legacy Farms in its mission to offer targeted, custom-designed apprenticeships to neurodiverse individuals, helping them perform essential organizational tasks in the garden, the community, and for organizational management.

The funds were raised at the Rotary Club’s annual golf tournament, a successful event that brings together community members to support local causes. Legacy Farms was one of the principal recipients of this year’s tournament.

“We are thrilled to support Legacy Farms and their important work in our community,” said Michael Cauldwell, President of the Rotary Club of Purcellville. “Their commitment to providing opportunities for neurodiverse individuals aligns perfectly with the Rotary’s mission of service and community support.”

The presentation of the $6,000 check took place on Oct. 16, at the Loudoun Golf and Country Club. President Michael Cauldwell presented the check to Sapna Hencinski of Legacy Farms.

Legacy Farms, established in 2012, offers a range of apprenticeships, including gardening, photography, art, video projects for social media, fund drives, sales and delivery, and project coordination. They partner with community organizations, learning centers, trade schools, and college students to provide a mentor/apprentice style of skills sharing for real-world, on-the-job learning.
