Survey on Ida Lee Park small playground design open

The Town of Leesburg’s Parks & Recreation Department is seeking input on the future design of the small playground at Ida Lee Park.

The Town is planning improvements to the small playground located on Ida Lee Park property between the recreation center (60 Ida Lee Drive NW) and the outdoor pool. The existing playground equipment that was installed over 20 years ago has reached its lifespan.

The playground improvements are planned for children ages 5 and under and will feature fencing, shade structures, seating areas, low deck heights (up to three feet), and will have accessibility elements, including a rubber play surface. Replacement of the entrance trail from the sidewalk to the playground to ensure ADA compliance is also planned.

A survey to gather feedback on the design of a new playground structure at Ida Lee Park is now open.
The survey will remain open through Nov. 18. The survey can be found at https://www.leesburgva.gov/residents/public-survey and also via QR code located at the playground
and in the lobby of the recreation center.

In addition to the survey, staff from the Parks & Recreation Department will host three public input sessions at the playground. Two will be held on Thursday, Nov. 14, at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. An additional input session will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16, at 10 a.m.

Members of the public are invited to come share their feedback in person during any of those sessions.
