Pedal Purcellville and Public Safety Day is May 18
Pedal Purcellville is a family-fun bike ride event through town and also a bike decorating contest on May 18.

Schedule
- 10 a.m. – Check-in
- 10:30 a.m. – Bike decorating contest with prizes awarded for the top three winners
- 11 a.m. – Family Fun Bike Ride through the Town of Purcellville
Family Fun Bike Ride Route
- Start ride at Purcellville Safety Center back parking lot
- Left on North Maple Avenue
- Right at Shoppes on Main
- Right onto 23 rd Street
- Right onto the W&OD Trail
- Back to the Purcellville Safety Center parking lot
Pedal Purcellville is part of Public Safety Day held at the Purcellville Safety Center at 500 N. Maple Avenue
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In addition to the family fun ride and bike decorating contest, there will be a Bike Safety Rodeo with helmet fittings, bicycle safety checks, and an on-bicycle safety course. Activities that are part of Public Safety Day include meet and greet with state, county, and local first responders; displays of police, fire, and rescue apparatus; demonstrations; paint the police cruiser; and a scavenger hunt. There will also be treats, and lunch will be available for purchase.
Parking will be in the open field across from the Purcellville Safety Center. Participants may also park at
Loudoun Valley High School (340 North Maple Avenue) and walk or ride their bikes to the Safety Center using the paved pathway.
The Purcellville Public Safety Day is jointly hosted by the Purcellville Police Department, the Town of
Purcellville Parks and Recreation, the Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company, and the Purcellville Volunteer
Rescue Squad.
