Pop-Up Exhibit to highlight history of downtown buildings

Thomas Balch Library will host a special pop-up exhibit on Friday, May 3, highlighting the unique history of buildings in downtown Leesburg.

Travel through time via images and archival items from Thomas Balch Library collections and see how familiar buildings have changed over time.

Visitors will have the opportunity to view historic records related to documenting and researching building histories, explore local preservation stories, and learn more about Leesburg’s Historic District.

In addition to the pop-up exhibit, Thomas Balch Library staff and volunteers will be on hand processing archival collections. Exhibits about the Donaldson Log Cabin’s history will also be on view.

The event will be held at the Donaldson Log Cabin (14 Loudoun St. SW), in conjunction with Leesburg First Friday, from 5 to 7 p.m. Visitors can drop in anytime during the event. Registration is not required.
