Hospitals facing critical shortage of blood
This week, hospitals are facing a critical shortage of blood, especially type O, due to increased usage in treating patients with critical injuries. Your donation of any blood type, but particularly those with type O blood, could be the vital support these patients require. By donating, you directly impact lives and help replenish the blood supply to meet this urgent demand.
If you are eligible to donate, please make an appointment or walk-in to an Inova Blood Donor Center today to give blood. Inova Blood Donor Services supports all five Inova hospitals, as well as 13 other hospitals in the region. Our three donor centers in Northern Virginia are open seven days a week.
