Explore the history of Loudoun County’s revolutionary landscapes through an interactive digital experience created by Thomas Balch Library through the ESRI Story Map GIS platform.
“Loudoun County’s Revolutionary Landscapes” shows how Loudoun County played a vital role during the period of the American Revolution. Loudoun residents debated revolutionary politics, served in revolutionary armies, and supplied the revolutionary cause. The story map explores the legacy of this pivotal period in American history through the landscape of Loudoun County.

The story map was created in partnership with the Virginia Piedmont Heritage Area Association, Thomas Balch Library, and the Loudoun VA 250 Commission. The content is based on an exhibit created by VPHAA and displayed at Thomas Balch Library in September 2023.
