Tree of Life Ministries’ giveaway program reached 1,000 residents
On Aug. 12 and 19, Tree of Life Ministries held its Annual Summer Giveaway events in three regions: Purcellville, Leesburg, and Sterling. These events were open to Loudoun County residents and beyond, offering free backpacks, school supplies, clothing, furniture, haircuts, and more. This year, there were over 1,000 attendees and 990 backpacks filled with school supplies were given out; and 458 individuals received clothing.
This was all made possible by an army of 275 Loudoun community volunteers and the contributions of numerous local churches and businesses, as well as personal donations of clothing, furniture, backpacks, supplies, and more.

In Leesburg, on Aug.12, 500 attendees came out to Crossroads Baptist Church for a Back-to-School Fiesta providing free backpacks, food, activities, live music, and gospel presentations. This event was in partnership with One Hope Ministries and had volunteers from 10 churches in the Leesburg area. Backpacks and school supplies were donated by local churches and handed out to 350 students.
In Purcellville, on Aug. 19, the Annual Summer Giveaway at Purcellville Baptist Church was held, 458 individuals received free clothing, and 469 backpacks with school supplies were given out. The Purcellville event also shared the gospel with 300 people. Free furniture was given to 30 families, along with 30 free haircuts, and dental kits to 345 children.
Also on Aug.19, Tree of Life Ministries held a giveaway event in Sterling where 130 attendees heard the gospel in three different languages. They provided the community with 169 backpacks filled with school supplies, as well as grocery items and fun activities for the children in attendance.
Tree of Life Ministries serves the Loudoun County community year-round providing support through five branches: Food, Lifeskills, Shelter, Healthcare, and Relief. This support includes groceries and free meals, financial assistance for rent and utilities, English classes, transitional housing, programs for individuals with disabilities and more.
The Annual Summer Giveaways are an opportunity to reach out to a wider range of families in need as they prepare for a new school year.
