Middleburg announces Independence Day Activities
The Town of Middleburg has announced that its Independence Day activities will be held on Tuesday, July 4 at the Middleburg Community Charter School located at 101 N. Madison Street. The event is free to the community. Starting next year, these activities will occur at the new Town Hall location, which is still an active construction site.
Events for July 4 in Middleburg begin at 6 p.m. and include:
- Music by “Native Wind”
- Food available for purchase from Divine Swine (BBQ) and the American Legion / Middleburg Lions (Hamburgers and Hot Dogs)
- Desserts and treats available for purchase
- Bouncy Houses courtesy of Middleburg Baptist Church
- Free glow sticks and bracelets from the Town of Middleburg
- Fireworks scheduled to begin at 9:15pm
Prior to these activities, the Middleburg Business and Professional Association will host the Independence Day Kid’s Parade. Line-up starts at 5:45 p.m. at the Community Center and will proceed with a police escort to the Middleburg Community Charter School.
Activities will be held at the MCCS basketball court, and viewing of the fireworks will occur in the ball field at the MCCS. Visitors are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Parking is limited and is available offsite throughout the Town and at the Community Center’s gravel parking lot – both are a short walk to MCCS. There is limited parking for disabled persons available at the MCCS (disabled placard required).
Fireworks will be discharged on the Salamander Resort property with the Middleburg Community Charter School providing an excellent view. The location was changed in 2022 due to the construction of homes on the Salamander property.
All residents and visitors are asked to respect private property, keep out of the Town Hall construction site, and stay outside the fallout restriction area that will be marked with police tape. Pet owners are encouraged to leave their pets at home due to proximity to the fireworks display. Please also note that alcoholic beverages are not permitted at the event or anywhere on the MCCS property.
There will not be formal July 4 activities at the Middleburg Community Center beginning in 2023, although their pool will be open regular hours on the holiday, from 11a.m.-8 p.m.).
A rain date is scheduled for July 5, in the case of inclement weather. For all the latest information on Independence Day activities, visit the Town of Middleburg’s website at www.middleburgva.gov/july4.
