VSP responds to tractor-trailer vehicle fire

At 9:22 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, Virginia State Police responded to a tractor-trailer that had stopped out on the right shoulder of the eastbound lanes of Route 267 at the Exit 2 ramp for Battlefield Parkway. The tractor-trailer had pulled over to due to heavy smoke coming from the rear axle of the trailer.

The driver of the vehicle was able to disconnect and separate the cab from the trailer as the flames spread through the trailer. The driver was not injured.
