Valvoline Oil Change approved for Compass Creek, hotel commitment expected by end of month
By Audrey Carpenter
Leesburg will soon have its own Valvoline Instant Oil Change located at the Compass Creek Retail Center with an anticipated opening date of 2025. The next closest Valvoline location is in Ashburn.
The Leesburg Town Council approved a zoning amendment Dec. 12 to allow a vehicle/equipment service facility to be built next to Popeye’s Restaurant and across from the ION Training Center. Previously the parcel was zoned for fast food drive thru restaurants. The proposed 4,000 square foot oil change shop will have a 3-bay garage.
Mayor Kelly Burk asked if Valvoline would have electric charging stations at its facility, but Town staff said no because the Town does not require that from development applicants.
Molly Novotny, a planning and development specialist with Cooley law firm in Reston, said that plans for a hotel at Compass Creek are moving along as well and “The deal should be finalized later this month.” The hotel would sit behind the existing Sunoco gas station.
