Upper Loudoun Red Sox finish perfect season with District 16 Championship

Upper Loudoun Little League is proud to announce that the Upper Loudoun Red Sox capped off an extraordinary season by winning the Virginia District 16 championship and finishing with a perfect 15–0 record. The team, comprised of boys ages 13-14 from Western Loudoun County communities including Hamilton, Purcellville, Round Hill, and Hillsboro, closed out their undefeated run with a 12–7 victory over the Central Loudoun Little League Astros.

Going undefeated at this level of play is a rare accomplishment in Loudoun County baseball and reflects the team’s exceptional discipline, teamwork, and talent. Throughout the season, the Red Sox competed against and defeated teams from across the county, including Central Loudoun Little League, Dulles Little League, Lower Loudoun Little League, and Loudoun South Little League.

“This group of young men showed up to every practice and every game ready to compete and support each other,” said Coach Shane Conrad. “They came together as a true team, and that’s what made the difference. Finishing 15-0 is something they’ll remember for the rest of their lives.”

“This championship represents the strength of our growing junior’s program across District 16,” said Manager Will Smith, who also serves as President of Upper Loudoun Little League. “This year we had the most juniors teams our district has ever seen, and to watch Upper Loudoun win it with a perfect season is incredibly exciting. It shows what’s possible when we invest in our young athletes.”

The Red Sox were led by Manager Will Smith and Coaches Shane Conrad, Jeff Mumford, and Brandon Michon, whose leadership brought out the best in every player on the roster.

Upper Loudoun Little League extends sincere thanks to the families and volunteers whose support fueled the team throughout their perfect season. Despite freezing weather conditions during the playoffs, families came together for potluck dinners and provided meals for the boys after games, creating a community atmosphere that exemplifies Western Loudoun’s commitment to youth athletics.
