Town of Hillsboro announces new appointments

The Hillsboro Town Council has recently appointed a new Town Treasurer and Planning Commissioner. Mike McCabe, who became a Town resident in 2020, will be the new Town Treasurer. McCabe, a Chartered Financial Analyst with a 40-year career in housing finance, is the Vice President of Capital Markets at the Housing Partnership Network, where he helps to develop financial solutions for the country’s largest nonprofit affordable housing developers.

Hillsboro Mayor Roger Vance said, “During this transformational period in Hillsboro’s history, Mike brings a high level of expertise in financial analysis, and management to the treasurer role.”

Paul Hrebenak is filling a recent vacancy on the Hillsboro Planning Commission, which is nearing completion of a revision of the Town Zoning Ordinance to meet the aspirations of the Town’s 2020 Comprehensive Plan. Hrebenak, who moved to Hillsboro in 2020, is a 13-year veteran of the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Police Department.

Hrebenak is assistant commander of the department’s first District. “Paul has an impressive record of public service and on-the-ground community involvement,” Mayor Vance said, “and he has made a strong commitment to work on ensuring Hillsboro’s long-term sustainability.”
