Sterling man charged after shoplifting investigation

The Leesburg Police Department has charged a Sterling man with grand larceny after an investigation into a shoplifting incident that occurred in September 2023.

On Sept. 11, 2023, officers responded to the Sunglass Hut, located at 241 Fort Evans Road, NE, in Leesburg, for a report of a shoplifting. A representative for the business reported that a male entered the business and removed items valued at over $2,800. Through an investigation, officers were able to identify Raquan L. Harkless, 29, of Sterling, as the suspect. Harkless was arrested on Jan. 31, 2024, and transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center where he is being held on no bond.
