Remembering James Frederick Daugherty

James Frederick Daugherty, 72, passed away March 12, surrounded by his family. Born Feb. 12, 1953 in Ohio to Fred and Mary Daugherty, his family relocated to Virginia in the early 1960’s, where his father helped build Sterling Park.

From carpentry to floor fitting, pinewood derby cars, and other creations, James was a true craftsman. He was an avid golfer and Washington sports fan. James loved music, reading, barbecuing and spending time with family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Patricia, his children and grandchildren. A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. The family asks to share an act of kindness in his memory.
