Purcellville Cram the Cruiser event June 24
On Saturday, June 24, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., the Purcellville Police Department will once again partner with Giant Food, located at 1000 East Main Street, Purcellville, to “Cram the Cruiser” with non-perishable food and hygiene items.
All donations will be distributed to local food pantries/community organizations to support our neighbors in need. Items requested include hygiene products (toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, conditioner, sanitary napkins, hair brushes), infant supplies (baby formula, cereal, diapers, baby wipes), canned soup, canned meats, canned fruits & vegetables, microwavable ravioli, pasta, pasta sauce, rice, peanut butter, snacks for kids (juice boxes, applesauce, granola bars), condiments, and spices. Please check all expiration dates before donating new, unopened items to ensure all food provided is safe to share with the community.
Many people readily donate food during the holidays; however, summer is often a forgotten time of year when many families struggle as well. With school being out, and many children unable to receive free meals at their schools, these type of events are essential to help those in need.
