Lovettsville teen killed in car crash

Virginia State Police is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred at 1:20 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2024 at East Loudoun Street and Leesburg Pike in Loudoun County.

A 2020 Volvo XC60 was traveling westbound on Loudoun Street when it was unable to avoid a 1997 Honda Civic that pulled into its path from Leesburg Pike to make a left turn onto East Loudoun Street eastbound.

The driver of the Civic, Leiliana N. “Leili” Schwartz, 16, of Lovettsville, Va., suffered serious injuries.  She later succumbed to her injuries at an area hospital.

The driver of the Volvo was uninjured. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. The crash remains under investigation.
