Loudoun County to Host Pit Stops for Bike to Work Day

Loudoun County will host two pit stops in Leesburg and Sterling for Bike to Work Day on Friday, May 15. This free, annual event celebrates a healthy and fun way to get to work with over 100 different pit stops throughout the Washington Metropolitan area. Registered participants will bike to a pit stop, pick up a free T-shirt and giveaways, and enjoy refreshments before beginning their workday.

Loudoun County Pit Stop Locations in Leesburg and Sterling

New and experienced bicycle commuters are encouraged to register online before the event and ride to one of Loudoun County’s pit stops. Leesburg riders should be aware of the new pit stop address for this year’s event. The Sterling pit stop location remains the same. Both pit stop locations are adjacent to the Washington and Old Dominion Trail:

  • Leesburg Pit Stop: New Location: 215 Depot Court SE, across Harrison Street SE from the former Raflo Park location. The pit stop will be open 6:30 – 9 a.m.
  • Sterling Pit Stop: 183 Ruritan Road, just east of Route 28 behind Northrop Grumman. The pit stop will be open 6:30 – 9 a.m.

Participants are invited to share their photos by tagging Loudoun County social media pages and adding the hashtag #BTWD2026.
 
Bike to Work Day is coordinated regionally by the Washington Area Bicyclist Association and Commuter Connections and is held rain or shine. The annual event attracts thousands of cyclists throughout the region. The local festivities are planned by Loudoun County Transit and Commuter Services.
