Leesburg Police make arrest in armed carjacking and abduction investigation

Subsequent to an investigation into a reported armed carjacking and abduction that occurred over the weekend, a 16 year old male was taken into custody last night and charged with attempted robbery, attempted malicious wounding, abduction, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The teenager, whose name cannot be released because he is a juvenile, is being held at the Loudoun County Juvenile Detention Center. Through the investigation it has been determined that the suspect was known to the victims.

On Saturday, December 12, 2020 at approximately 7:07 PM, Leesburg Police Officers were notified by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) of a reported armed carjacking and abduction that had occurred between 6:30 PM and 7:00 PM in the 100 block of Meadows Lane NE, Leesburg. LCSO advised that three of the four victims were located with the vehicle at an apartment complex in the 20300 block of River Ridge Terrace, Ashburn and that the fourth victim was still in Leesburg. Through an investigation it has been determined that the suspect was known to the victims. One of the victims suffered an apparent minor injury as a result of the incident.

The incident remains under investigation by the Leesburg Police Department Criminal Investigation Section.
