Leesburg Police identify victim in fatal pedestrian crash

The Leesburg Police Department has identified the victim in the fatal pedestrian crash that occurred late Thursday night near the intersection of the Leesburg Bypass (Rt. 15) and Edwards Ferry Road NE.

The deceased has been identified as Ashlin Barraclough, 24, of Leesburg.

As previously reported, at approximately 11:35 p.m. on June 12, a Leesburg Police officer came across the crash scene while on routine patrol. Emergency services were immediately requested, but despite lifesaving efforts, Barraclough was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle involved remained on scene and has been cooperating with investigators. At this time, no charges have been filed.
