Leesburg Police continue armed robbery investigation

The Leesburg Police Department Criminal Investigation Section continues to investigate an armed robbery that occurred early Wednesday morning, June 22, at the Best Western Leesburg Hotel and Conference Center.

On June 22, at approximately 12:58 a.m., Leesburg Police Dispatchers were called in reference to an armed robbery at 726 E Market Street in Leesburg. The suspect, armed with a handgun, entered the business, demanded cash, and fled the scene. The suspect was able to escape with cash from the business. The suspect is described as an older African American male, approximately 6’, skinny build, baggy clothing, wearing a mask – possibly a ski mask. The suspect remains at large.

There was a significant police presence due to the nature of the crime and search efforts for the suspect(s). The Leesburg Police Department would like to thank the Fairfax County Police Department and the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance.
