Leesburg man charged with robbery
The Leesburg Police Department is investigating a robbery and assault that was reported on Friday evening resulting in the arrest of an area man.

On Friday, May 17, at approximately 5:22 p.m., Leesburg Police Officers responded to the Sheetz gas station 915 Edwards Ferry Road NE, for a report of a male who was robbed and assaulted. The victim
reported that a male known to him assaulted him, took his cell phone, and then fled on foot.
Officers canvassed the area and located the suspect in the unit block of Plaza Street NE. Upon seeing the officers, the suspect fled but was apprehended after a short foot chase.
Fidel Ordonez Molina, age 18, of Leesburg, was arrested and charged with robbery, assault, and preventing law enforcement from making an arrest. Molina was transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center where he is held on no bond. The victim was treated on the scene for his injuries.
