LCSO to hold women’s self-defense course Dec. 7

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office will hold a Women’s Self-Defense course on Dec. 7. This course is designed to provide women the building block of skills to defend themselves in the event of an attack as well as proactive safety recommendations to increase awareness.

The Women’s Self-Defense course is free and will consist of four individual class sessions that build upon each other. The course sessions will be held Dec. 7, 11, 14, and 19 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Sheriff’s Office Training Center in Leesburg. Participation in all four class sessions is required for graduation.

“We are excited to bring this opportunity to the community to better equip women to defend themselves in the event of an attack,” said Sheriff Mike Chapman. “The men and women of our Defensive Tactics and Crime Prevention sections have been diligently working to provide realistic and useful training to the women of the community.”
