LCSO releases names and charges for Leanne Terrace shooting
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the shooting that took place in Ashburn on the evening of Friday, Aug. 9.
At approximately 6:30 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a shooting in the 22000 block of Leanne Terrace in Ashburn that resulted in the death of a 50-year-old man.
The initial investigation showed the incident was domestic related; the victim and suspect are father and son. The suspect was taken into custody shortly after the incident.
The victim has been identified as Jerome Edward Thompson, 50, of Ashburn.
The suspect has been identified as Jerome Edward Thompson Jr., 19, of Ashburn.
Thompson Jr. has been charged with Second Degree Murder and Use or Display of Firearm in the Commission of Felony. The investigation is active and ongoing.
The LCSO is asking that anyone who witnessed this incident or may have any information related to the incident, and who has not already spoken to law enforcement, to contact Detective Schmidt at (703) 777-1021.
