LCSO investigates fatal pedestrian crash in Ashburn

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the crash that occurred this morning at the intersection of Claiborne Parkway and Portsmouth Boulevard in Ashburn.

The pedestrian, Calina Yu, 20, of Ashburn and a student at Stone Bridge High School, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver, an employee of Loudoun County Public Schools, struck the victim while driving an LCPS maintenance vehicle and remained on scene to speak with LCSO detectives.

This remains an active investigation by the LCSO Crash Reconstruction Unit. The LCSO is asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has any relevant information to contact Detective Lotz at 703-771-1021.
