LCSO charges suspect in fatal Brambleton shooting

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office arrested Fadlalla Mohamed, 19, of Ashburn in connection with the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old male in the 43000 block of Hillmont Terrace in Ashburn on Saturday, April 12.

On April 12, at approximately 5:58 p.m., deputies responded to a call after an injured male was found in the front passenger seat of a vehicle in front of the Harris Teeter in Southern Walk Plaza. Immediate assistance was rendered, but the victim succumbed to his wound and was pronounced deceased.  The incident was initially reported as a stabbing at that location, however it was later determined that the victim was shot at another location. Deputies determined that another individual had transported the victim to Southern Walk Plaza. That individual is not considered a suspect.

The LCSO identified Mohamed as the shooter and took him into custody yesterday afternoon in Leesburg. Mohamed is charged with 1 st  Degree Murder and Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony. He is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond.

“This was a brutal crime and is a tragedy for this young man’s family,” said Sheriff Mike Chapman. “I am proud of the many deputies, detectives, analysts and others who worked around-the-clock to identify the suspect, then locate and arrest him. The arrest of a suspect in less than 24 hours is a tribute to their diligence and skills, and to the use of state-of-the-art technologies to identify and locate Mohamed,” he added.

The LCSO continues to investigate the circumstances of this incident and other persons who may have been involved.

The LCSO is asking anyone with information to contact Detective Whitehead at 703-777-1021. Callers wishing to remain anonymous are asked to call Loudoun County Crime Solvers at 703-777-1919 or submit a tip through the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office app.
