LCPL Announces 10 th  Annual Rhyme On! poetry contest

Loudoun County Public Library customers aged 18 and older can win cash prizes in the 10th annual Rhyme On! Poetry Writing Contest running April 1 through May 17.

Poems can be submitted in one of four categories: Best Love Poem, Best “Loudoun” Poem, Funniest Poem, or Free Verse. Entries must be original and unpublished and should be emailed by May 17 to: rhymeon@library.loudoun.gov. Winners will be announced on Thursday, June 15 at the Sterling Library, and their poems will be published in a free eBook on LCPL’s Rhyme On! page.

“I love that Rhyme On! challenges our community to put their inspirations about love, about Loudoun, about anything else down on paper, to participate in one of the oldest cultural arts in history,” said Susan VanEpps, LCPL’s Division Manager of Programming and Community Engagement. “Reading the poems submitted is a constant reminder of how creative our community members are, and we are grateful they want to share a part of themselves with us.”
