“Keep Leesburg Beautiful” kick off event to be held on April 5
The Town of Leesburg’s annual “Keep Leesburg Beautiful” campaign will take place from Tuesday, April 1 to Wednesday, April 30. To celebrate, an official cleanup event will take place on Saturday, April 5, at Raflo Park (345 Harrison Street SE) beginning at 11 a.m.
“Keep Leesburg Beautiful” is an opportunity for the public to get involved in cleaning up the Town. Residents, neighborhoods, community groups, and businesses are encouraged to participate by forming teams to collect litter along roadsides, stream beds, and other public common areas.
Mayor Kelly Burk will present the “Golden (Trash) Grabber” award to the group that gathers the most trash. To boost participation, several local businesses—including Catty Corner Cafe, The Global Local, Move, Shake and Bop, Birch Tree Books and Plants, and Puccio’s—are offering gifts and discounts to volunteers. Each participant will receive a volunteer card as proof of involvement.
Details on volunteering, including suggested litter collection locations, can be found at www.leesburgva.gov/KLB.
