Juvenile suspect identified in school threat investigation
A juvenile has been identified as a suspect in the Feb. 17, social media threat of violence involving a firearm related to a Harper Park Middle School.
Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, the Leesburg Police Department has determined that the juvenile previously alleged to have published the social media threat is not involved in the incident, and is a victim. The investigation has revealed that another juvenile(s) purported to be the victim when they sent the social media threat. There is no indication that the juvenile victim had knowledge that the threat was going to be made using their identity. It has been determined that the threat is not credible.
