The JK Community Farm is seeking teams of volunteers from companies, civic groups as well as individuals of all ages and sponsors to participate in its 6th annual Plant-A-Thon. With two days to choose from, Friday and Saturday, May 17 and 18, individuals and teams will kick off the growing season by planting 52,000 seedlings that will grow into 130,000 nutrient-dense meals for families facing food insecurity.

In addition, the event will help raise funds to support the nonprofit farm’s work. Smokin Willy’s BBQ and music will be on site for a fun filled day of giving back and food education. JK Community Farm is located at 35516 Paxson Road in Purcellville.

The nonprofit farm provides chemical free, healthy produce and protein to those struggling with poverty in the region. The farm donates the food it grows to nonprofit partners, including Loudoun Hunger Relief, Food for Others, Arlington Food Assistance Center, and DC Central Kitchen. The Plant-A-Thon is the same weekend as Loudoun’s Farm Tours and self-guided tours of JK Community Farm are welcome.

More than 500 Volunteers— Corporate, Individuals, and Civic Teams—all ages welcome.

Companies participating to date include: JK Moving, CapRelo, Chess Consulting, AFAC, CGI Federal, Metaphase Consulting, GRID Networks, and RenXTech. To sign up go to jkcommunityfarm.org/events/2024-plant-a-thon/#plantathon-signup or call 703-881-6548.
