Fire Marshal’s Office makes arrest in 2023 Ashburn incendiary fires

The Loudoun County Fire and Rescue Fire Marshal’s Office has arrested a Leesburg man for his alleged involvement in two separate incendiary fires that occurred on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, in the 43000 block of Thistledown Terrace in Ashburn.
Austin Bostic, 31, was arrested and charged with Burning or Destroying a Dwelling House, etc. (§ 18.2-77.) and Setting Fire to Woods, Fences, Grass, etc. (§ 18.2-86.). He was held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
At approximately 2:29 p.m., the Loudoun County Emergency Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call for a reported structure fire. Upon arrival, LCFR units located the remnants of a fire in the stairwell of the residential building, and crews determined there was no extension of the fire outside of the stairwell.
Additionally, crews located a second area where personal property items were burned in front of the building. The LCFR FMO determined the cause of these fires to be incendiary in nature.
No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.
