Fire and Rescue Units Tackle Multiple Vehicles on Fire in Sterling, Hazardous Materials Team Responds.
Just before 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, Loudoun County Fire and Rescue (LCFR) units from Sterling Park and Kincora, along with several command and safety officers, responded to reports of multiple vehicles on fire in the 45400 block of Holiday Drive in Sterling. The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office responded and assisted with traffic control and ensuring the area was evacuated. LCFR crews arrived on scene to find multiple vehicles on fire; fortunately, there was no extension to any nearby structures. The Hazardous Materials Response Team (HazMat) was requested to respond due to an active
fuel fire running towards a storm drain. The fire was quickly placed under control, and the running fuel was stopped by placing booms and using absorbent. HazMat crews also checked the storm drains for any advancement of the fuel.
There were no reported civilian or firefighter injuries and the LCFR Fire Marshal’s Office continues to investigate.
