Fifth annual Cabin Fever Film Festival planned for Jan. 28-29

The fifth annual Purcellville Cabin Fever Film Festival, co-hosted by the Town of Purcellville Arts Council and the Franklin Park Visual and Performing Arts Center, kicks off Jan. 28-29 with a slate of 13 films that highlight Loudoun filmmakers. This festival highlights local tales and talent films, student productions, and vintage home movies, with emphasis on films made in Purcellville or by residents in the Purcellville area.

To celebrate the fifth year of this festival, prizes will be awarded for Best Student-Produced Film, Best Loudoun-Focused Film, and Audience Favorite. Prizes are sponsored by the Friends of Franklin Park Arts Center, the Purcellville Arts Council, and Visit Loudoun. Break that cabin fever in late-January and enjoy the fifth year of Purcellville’s only film festival.

Five of the 13 films highlight physical, historical and human assets specific to Loudoun County, and will be shown on Friday, Jan. 28, starting at 7 p.m. Visit Loudoun will announce its selected winner from this series of films.

Starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 29, these films will be shown again an,d after a short intermission, the final block of eight films will be shown, which include live action, documentary, and stop motion. During the Saturday viewing, members of the audience will select their favorite film to determine the “Audience Favorite” category. Winners of this category along with the “Student” category will be announced.

The slate of films is below. Loudoun-Focused films will be shown on Friday night and repeated on Saturday Jan. 29, at 10 am.
