Diversity Commission hosting snack drive
The Leesburg Diversity Commission is sponsoring a snack drive to benefit local students during the summer months.
Donations of individually-wrapped snack items will be accepted in donation bins placed at Town Hall and Ida Lee Park Recreation Center from Monday, July 10, through Friday, July 28.
Needed items include individual servings of granola bars, trail mix, applesauce, crackers, chips, fruit squeeze pouches, breakfast bars, cereal cups, macaroni and cheese, ramen noodles, or grab and go soups.
All donations collected will be donated to the Backpack Coalition, a program of the Loudoun Education Foundation that provides food to thousands of food-insecure students every week. More information on the Backpack Coalition can be found at https://www.loudouneducationfoundation.org/backpack-coalition.
The mission of the Diversity Commission is to help foster diversity and inclusion within the community at large. More information about the Commission can be found at https://www.leesburgva.gov/government/boards-and-commissions/diversity-commission.
