Ashburn woman charged in package thefts investigation

Brandi Lowry, 44, of Ashburn, has been charged with five counts of petit larceny.

On the morning of Friday, Nov. 17, 2023, the Leesburg Police Department received a report that a White female with blonde hair had stolen a package that had just been delivered on the victim’s porch in the 500 block of Nivens Court SW. It was further reported that the female appeared to be following a package delivery truck in a white colored sedan. As officers canvassed the area, additional callers began to report similar activity on surrounding streets.

A short time later, a Leesburg Police Officer located the suspect vehicle in the 1100 block of Coubertin Drive SE. The officer performed a traffic stop and identified the driver as Brandi Lowry. Multiple stolen packages and clothing items were located in plain view in Lowry’s vehicle. The initial investigation revealed that Lowry was responsible for at least two porch package thefts.

Lowry was arrested for two counts of petit larceny and transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center where she was released on an unsecured bond.

Further investigation revealed that Lowry was responsible for three additional porch package thefts. A Leesburg Police Officer obtained three additional warrants on Nov. 17, 2023, each charging Lowry with petit larceny, however, she was unable to be located at that time.

Lowry was subsequently located at the Loudoun County Courthouse yesterday, where she was arrested by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office for the three additional LPD obtained petit larceny warrants. She was transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center where she was released on an unsecured bond.
