Ashburn Man arrested in connection with Oct. 1 shooting in Leesburg

An Ashburn man has been arrested following an investigation into an Oct. 1, incident involving a firearm discharge in the 700 block of East Market Street in Leesburg.

According to the Leesburg Police Department, officers responded just before 9 p.m. on Oct. 1 for a report of a fight in the area. Upon arrival, they confirmed that a firearm had been discharged during the altercation. No injuries related to gunfire were reported at the scene.

Following a detailed investigation, Leesburg Police arrested D’Angelo E. Bland, 23, of Ashburn, on Monday, Oct. 20. Bland has been charged with attempted malicious wounding, using a firearm in the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, brandishing a firearm, discharging a firearm in public, and discharging a firearm across a roadway.

Bland was transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held without bond. The Leesburg Police Department expressed its appreciation to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office for their support during the follow-up investigation.
