Cao will defend the U.S. Constitution

Dear Editor:

Hung Cao has once again met the enemy, but this time the enemy is the domestic kind.

Cao, a retired US Navy Captain—who swore an oath “to support and defend the US Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic”—has previously met the enemy—the foreign kind—in places like Iraq, Afghanistan, and Somalia, and his stellar 25-year resume proves that he successfully upheld his oath.

Now, as the Republican vying to replace Democrat Jennifer Wexton in the U.S. Congress, Cao must renew his oath to support and defend the U.S. Constitution against the enemy—the domestic kind—in places like Loudoun County and Washington, D.C.

If elected, Captain Cao will need to help fix the damage done by the many Democrat Party politicians who have neither supported nor defended many of the Articles and Amendments in our venerable founding document.

Among the Democrat politicians who have blown off their own oaths to support and defend the U.S. Constitution are President Joe Biden, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Captain Cao’s opponent, our current Congresswoman Wexton.

Biden, as President, is required by Article II, Section 3, of the U.S. Constitution to “take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.” Unfortunately, as anyone who is aware of the chaos at our Southern border knows, Biden has failed to order his executive branch subordinates to enforce the Immigration Laws (8 USC 1151).

Pelosi, who convened the kangaroo court known as the January 6th Committee, is blowing off her oath by allowing her committee to exceed the powers given to Congress by Article I of the Constitution.

Congress has just two responsibilities, to legislate and to appropriate, but Pelosi has allowed her henchmen to conduct an un-constitutional criminal investigation while simultaneously violating people’s due process rights (5th and 14th Amendments) and their right to confront evidence (6th Amendment).

Wexton has also failed to uphold her oath. Her Constitution-related voting scores, calculated on a scale of zero to 100 percent, on the voting scorecards compiled by Conservative Review, Heritage Action for America, and FreedomWorks, are: three percent, zero percent, and two percent, respectively.  Ouch!

James Madison, the Father of the U.S. Constitution, has to be rolling over in his grave as these Democrats fail to support and defend our miraculous founding document.

Fortunately, Loudoun County citizens now have the opportunity to make Madison happy by replacing Jennifer Wexton with Hung Cao who has, and who will, support and defend the U.S. Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
