Small and local rocks

Dear Editor:

After reading the BRL’s latest article exposing the mess at the Gable Farm dump site outside Hamilton, I determined to write a letter congratulating the paper for its determined pursuit of this scandal. I was reminded of my promise by the latest issue with its story on the hot mic catching a developer and town staffer conspiring to push their agenda.

 I have heard on national news shows that local papers are disappearing and with them the close attention to local affairs that democracy requires. In these dark days with democracy itself under siege, having a local paper like this one is something we should all take pride in.
