Purcellville police report Oct. 29, 2021

10/22/21          10:08 p.m.       300 Block of Bill Brower Court         Other Police Complaint

A resident reported that someone driving a truck drove over his yard. He told the responding officer that it was someone coming from his neighbors’ house. The officer checked the yard an observed tire indentations but did not see anything that appeared to be permanent damage. The complainant did not wish to press charges but did want the offender to apologize. The officer responded to the neighbors’ house and learned the identity of the driver. The officer responded to his address and spoke with his parents and explained the situation. The offender’s father responded with his son to the complaint’s residence where his son apologized.

10/23/21          9:00 a.m.         Unknown Location                             Suspicious Incident

A woman from New Jersey called ECC to report that a subject who lived somewhere in Loudoun County was engaged in sex trafficking. She reported that he had rented a house with a Purcellville zip code. An officer called and spoke to her about this matter. In support of her allegations, she sent a variety of documents related to a cyber security conference. She also told the officer that she had already spoken to the FBI and a Defense intelligence agency. She told the officer that she has never met the purported sex trafficker in person, but has chatted with him during online conferences. Her denouncements of the subject were broad, but lacking in any type of detail or evidence of wrong doing. The investigating officer felt that this may be a mental health issue. 

10/27/21          9:25 p.m.         600 Block of G Street                                     Domestic Argument

A woman called to report a verbal argument between her adult son and her boyfriend. The investigating officer determined that no physical assault took place. He also discussed strategies that included nutritional and mental health intervention to deescalate tense situations.   

10/27/21          11:43 p.m.       100 Purcellville Gateway Drive         DUI

An officer observed a man stagger out of the 7-Eleven and get behind the wheel of a running motor vehicle and drive away. The officer stopped the car, which also had an expired registration. The driver exited his car and approached the officer. He could not produce a license as he informed the officer that it had been suspended for approximately 10 years, due to prior DUI convictions. The driver failed a battery of field sobriety tests and was arrested. He was transported to the Adult Detention Center, where his blood alcohol level was tested, yielding a result of .16. He was charged with Felony DUI, Driving while Revoked, and Expired Registration.

10/28/21          2:57 p.m.         800 Block of Kinvarra Place             Found Property                                             

The complainant found a key ring for a Scion in his van. He is not sure how it got there. His last service on his van was done locally. The investigating officer responded to the garage, where the owner reported that the key did not go with any of the vehicles present. Anyone missing a similar key fob can respond to the Purcellville Police Department to identify it.
