LCSO Makes Arrest in Connection with Abduction and Assault

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Rolando Sanchez Velasquez, 34, of Sterling in connection with the abduction and assault that occurred in the area of Algonkian Parkway and Lowes Island Boulevard on the evening of July 15, 2026. 

Deputies responded to the area after receiving a report from a female pedestrian who was approached and grabbed on a walking trail by the suspect.  The victim courageously fought off her attacker and escaped to call 9-1-1.  

Rolando Sanchez Velasquez is charged with Abduction and Assault and Battery.  In addition, he was served with outstanding warrants for Child Neglect, and he is an undocumented non-citizen. He is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, and an immigration detainer is on file.
